strike> I have been playing with paint and textures , I have found relatively cheap acrylic additive to smooth out a canvass. Unlike gesso it dries harder, faster, I mixed it with paint and it gave some interesting results.
More later

Coffee and a Spanish Tourist

I got do so more painting so I did my morning Latte Machiatto, I painted this for my friend Karen who owns the Cafe' I frequent in my village of Memmingen. This kind of a overhead view, it is called a birdseye view

.

This a women on the plane Graphite about 15 minutes

My drawing is a young senorita waiting for a plane at the Madrid airport, I think she was about 17-18 years old. The hard thing about drawing people you see is you don't want to stare (DUH), but make the most with glances remembering as much info as possible. This done with graphite about 20 minutes. I finished the hair after she left.

My Blue Period

I know Picasso had a blue period, circa 1901-1904 where most of his work was monochromatic describes paintings, drawings, design, or photographs in one color or shades of one color. He was grieving a death of a friend me, well i just want to work on these skills.

This blue Jesus was difficult trying to soften the tones and trying to keep this like a sculpture was harder than I thought it would be.

Velvet Jesus and the Holy Spirit

I know I don't have Velvet to paint on, if I did I guess I would do Elvis. I did these via reverse engineering I start with by painting the Canvass all black and I drew as I painted. Also I have bought some different colors I still kept my Palette monochrome in a black/gray for this. Colors don't work well black I don't know why I did it this way just wanted to do something unusual.

In Western art history the dove symbolizes purity and is used to represent the Holy Spirit, if you have seen Icons or old church art you will see the dove, The Bible talks about the Spirit appeared as a dove over Jesus during his Baptism. As I have been to many of the finest cathedrals and basilicas in Europe there is usually a dove over the pulpits and the baptisteries. In Christianity, the Holy Spirit is the is the third person of the Trinity. As part of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and with God the Son.

First few drawings are 10-15 minute life studies, quick gestures I was trying work on my speed again. i am in Spain hoping to hit a few museums. I want do some sketching in the gallery.
I want to hit this one-Museo de Bellas Artes apart from being an amazingly beautiful building, Museo de Bellas Artes is the second biggest art museum in Valencia, the second most important art collection in Spain.

On my flight to Spain with a hour and a half to kill so I use a 5 Copic markers and a Sharpie, I know I have a painterly style and maybe I should just live with it, I still intend to try different styles on my J.C. project.
