PAINTING WITH A TWIST AND A FIGURE STUDY

I actually took the painting class on Tuesday with my wife she really enjoys  painting now. Can't blame her because it is rather enjoyable and fun watching her work,  it was taught by my friend Sheri.  For those you have never been to PWAT,  you sit with a group of people and it is  paint by instruction.  The other is a  figure study that had been working on, on an off for while, I think I've repurpose the canvas at least four or five times, I don't even know what the original painting underneath was.

For those of the new to the blog most all the paintings and drawings are for sale this e-mail me at martylongoria@gmail.com.

My New Toms Shoes

I love me some  TOMS very Comfortable. I had a pair  before there an artist special they had splattered paint all over them  and I really enjoyed them but  when we moved away to Europe  I had to let them go.  So with my new purchase I decided to also  draw them they even look comfortable in the drawing.  My other drawings are from church again I'm not a person to write many notes, but I actually draw illustrations of how and what the speaker is talking about.  All my church drawings are  done in ink.

Jim Thorpe

Marker and Pencil

Considered one of the most versatile athletes of modern sports, he won Olympic gold medals for the 1912 pentathlon and decathlon, played American football(collegiate and professional), and also played professional baseball and basketball. He lost his Olympic titles after it was found he was paid for playing two seasons of semi-professional baseball before competing in the Olympics, thus violating the amateurism rules. In 1983, 30 years after his death, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) restored his Olympic medals.

I Have been working on this one on and off for about 5 months now, added 6 hours last week.

Here is a little on Bio on Satchel Paige
Joe DiMaggio called Satchel Paige "the best and fastest pitcher I've ever faced". His pitching was amazing and his showboating was legendary. His career highlights span five decades. Pronounced the greatest pitcher in the history of the Negro Leagues, Paige compiled such feats as 64 consecutive scoreless innings, a stretch of 21 straight wins, and a 31-4 record in 1933. For 22 years, Paige mauled the competition in front of sellout crowds.  In 1971, Leroy "Satchel" Paige was given the ultimate honor, he was elected to join the very best in baseball history in the Hall of Fame.

Bored during the TAKS

Did ever do something you hated?  For me is the TAKS testing done in schools, I know as an educator I am supposed be in to this but I just can't enjoy it. I have to monitor the kids to make sure they don't cheat, disturb or mess with other students during the test. So I got to draw to the students testing ten minutes here, five minutes there and I picked up a  Michelangelo book and I did a few scribbles from there.

Snowed In

For those who have not ventured out in this past week it is cold, so I have been snowed in myself. After catching up to all the paper work since I started teach school again, I have used my free time to draw and a little painting. I have done a little of everything, my mind has been scatter shooting so my drawing has been following suit.

one for Marla
I have working painting and drawing often, but some of the work I can't show y'all. I am working on a graphic novel with an author so it has been comic characters.

I have a Part-time gig with a group called Painting With A Twist so I teach adults how to paint on canvass and they take something home after 2 or 3 hours to hang in their home.

It is a fun way to get a little art lesson,  drink a little wine hang out with friends.

Everything other than the Lemons can be done at PWAT

All this is about 28 hours of work and fun.

Drawing in Church

I know some people when you think of drawing in church it is a bad thing. Not for me, it is a way I stay engaged with the talk by illustrating what I hear. These are from the the Christmas season, I used some classical Iconography such as the dove being the "Holy Spirit" Elemental symbols were widely used by the early Church
